Long time serving member and President at that time, Reg Lincoln and his forward thinking executive had the hindsight to purchase land for the a new clubrooms to be built overlooking Waihi Beach, with a panoramic view of the beach and Mayor Island, a view that inspires people from the time they step into the club.

Reg stepped down as President for Jack Hancock to take over the reins of club business so that Reg could take on the daunting task as Project Chairman. It was a task that involved many weeks and months of hard slog with continuous discussions with authorities, contractors, suppliers and banks. Loans were signed with banks and members dipped into their pockets for a further $200,000 in debentures to get the massive project started.

In 1992 local farmers and keen RSA supporters Stewart & Rita Brown made their very generous offer to the association, which made it possible for the fabulous new building to be sited in such a wonderful location.

Aside from the natural beauty of the sea-side environment, the new RSA building will be "the greatest asset Waihi Beach has ever had." says Waihi Beach Memorial RSA president, Jack Hancock.
