The twins, Chad and Tony Paekau along with their cousin Tommy began jamming together as an acoustic act in local bars and pubs at the Mount, Papamoa and Tauranga. The boys have roots in Waikato and the King Country. Whanau ties also lie in Raglan, so they chose the name LHB to honour not only their heritage but also their new home in a popular surf spot of the Bay Of Plenty. All round good guy Mike Hauraki from Te Puke drives the band’s heartbeat while Tauranga diva Porina McLeod brings her X Factor to complete LHB’s sound.
